"Who can find a virtuous woman? For her worth is far above rubies. The heart of her husband safely trusts her; so he will have no lack of gain. She does him good and not evil all the days of her life. She seeks wool and flax, and willingly works with her hands. She is like the merchant ships, she brings her food from afar." Proverbs 31:10-14

For a moment, let's consider the virtuous woman as the Bride of Christ. Spiritually, we see that she is a woman of valor, and has worth far beyond rubies. She is woman greatly trusted by her Husband, Who has no lack of gain of spiritual riches, because He is His Father's Son.

The hours and days she spends with Him, in an audience of one, are essential to their mutual love and covenant. It is in those times, that she is strengthened by His Presence, to accomplish the tasks that she joyfully embraces for His honor and glory, and His delight is in her. Precious, golden, holy moments.

A very important part of the Bride's life is that of a seeker. She cherishes the communion with her Beloved more than mere words can express, but her love for Him sends her out to His harvest fields to gather the souls who do not yet know her Beloved. He is delighted immensely by her love for souls and by her desire to fill His house. This virtuous woman is a help meet to her Husband in His harvest of souls. She is like Him.

Luke 15:3-7

So He spoke this parable to them, saying:

“What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it?

And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing.

And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’

I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.

"She seeks wool and flax, and willingly works with her hands." The seeking of both wool and flax by the Bride represents something much different, yet similar. "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you." Matthew 6:33 "How do wool and flax relate to the kingdom of God?," you ask, as did I.

When the children of Israel finished the tabernacle which God told Moses to build in the wilderness, "they brought the tabernacle to Moses, the tent and all its furnishings…the covering of ram skins dyed red, the covering of badger skins, and the veil of the covering…"Exodus 39:32-34 Did you notice the "covering of ram skins dyed red?" The covering of ram skins, of course, was made of wool from the sheep, and the red color foreshadowed the Shed Blood of the Lamb of God.

The Lord's Bride keeps the Blood of Jesus, the scarlet thread, on her lips, telling others of His atoning death, burial, and resurrection, the only Sacrifice which can bring the kingdom of God with its righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit to every one who believes upon and receives Him.

Wool and flax are very closely associated in the symbolic language of righteousness. Flax is the plant from which linen is made. "And to her, it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints." Revelation 19:8 The Bride's sins have been washed away by the Blood, and, since she has been forgiven much, she loves Him much, demonstrating her love for Jesus by her righteous acts, or sanctified life.

In the temple, the priest wore fine linen into the holy of holies to come before the Lord for the people. Without the righteousness of Jesus, all of our righteousnesses are as filthy rags in His sight." Isaiah 64:6 Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow. Isaiah 1:18 After we have experienced his righteousness and purity, we want to walk as He walked.

"She is like the merchant ships, bringing her food from afar." Proverbs 31:14 The Message Bible says, "She is like a trading ship that sails to faraway places and brings back exotic surprises."

When Jacob was blessing his twelve sons just prior to his death, he spoke to his son, Zebulun, and said, "Zebulun shall dwell by the haven of the sea; he shall become a haven for ships and his border shall adjoin Sidon." The Bride of Christ sails the oceans, or flies over them, in this day, or sends satellite signals, or uses the internet, to carry the gospel to faraway places, being used of God to fulfill the scripture that says that the kingdom of God is like a small seed that a farmer plants, "but in the course of years it grows into a huge tree, and eagles build their nests in it." Matthew 13:31 (The Message)

The Bride is about the Father's business, just as the Son. We are like Him.

"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord." 2 Corinthians 3:18

Glory! Glory! Glory to the Name of the Lord!!!!!!!

Much love and many blessings,

Lyrics: Oh, Lord, You're Beautiful, Keith Green

Oh lord, you’re beautiful,

Your face is all I see,

For when your eyes are on this child,

Your grace abounds to me.

Oh lord, you’re beautiful,

Your face is all I see,

For when your eyes are on this child,

Your grace abounds to me.

I want to take your word and shine it all around.

But first help me to just, live it lord.

And when I’m doing well, help me to never seek a crown.

For my reward is giving glory to you.

Oh lord, please light the fire,

That once burned bright and clean.

Replace the lamp of my first love,

That burns with holy fear.

I want to take your word and shine it all around.

But first help me to just, live it lord.

And when I’m doing well, help me to never seek a crown.

For my reward is giving glory to you.

Oh lord, you’re beautiful,

Your face is all I see,

For when your eyes are on this child,

Your grace abounds to me.

Oh lord, you’re beautiful,

Your face is all I see,

For when your eyes are on this child,

Your grace abounds to me.
